Sourcing parts and software on demand, IT@work can tailormake the perfect computer to meet your needs and your budget. We use only top quality parts - most with 3 year warranties. Because we use only parts sourced from NZ distributors, you can buy with confidence - knowing your warranty means something. Being local means we have to back everything we sell, so we only sell computers that are going to be well built and reliable. We can't hide at the end of a phone line, we can't "lose" your computer in transit.

Portable Systems

We are resellers of Hewlett Packard, Compaq, IBM, NEC, Acer, Toshiba and Sony portable systems. We source our product direct from the NZ distributors and often offer better prices than our big-city counterparts. We typically stock 2-3 notebooks in store. Because our stock level is relatively low, our sales staff aren't pressured to "push" customers into the models we have in stock - we believe it's better to match your needs to the product that is right for you.

Hire Purchase and Lease
Hire Purchase and Leasing
Generally, 1 in 3 of our sales over $500 are on Hire Purchase or Lease. More and more businesses are preferring to lease their IT equipment for obvious tax and cashflow reasons. Hire Purchase often makes a computer affordable to most people.
The "Interest Free" Myth
Many of the national chain stores advertise "Interest Free" deals. We don't. We have our reasons:
There's no such thing as Interest Free: the cost of the interest has already been added to the price.
Many "Interest Free" deals we've seen, when written up in the contract have interest components of 23-25%!
We prefer to offer a lower price to cash/cheque/credit card buyers and show the true cost of Hire Purchase to our customers.
Most Finance companies offer "rebates" to stores: they pay the retailer to encourage customers to sign HP deals. We negotiated a lower interest rate with our finance company, in lieu of rebates.
We believe Hire Purchase should be transparent and customers need to know exactly what the true cost of any deal is. We don't use fine-print when advertising. We don't show the weekly repayment needed over three years next to an advertisement for a "10 month interest free deal" then explain it all away in words 1 millimetre high.
